J Ferreira is dominant in the air and Mbi acts as the covering defender to sweep behind the high line when the team pushes forward. The unit works together to squeeze the space and trigger a press when the ball enters their half.

The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative elements. Helguera and Gorby operate in the central roles to control the tempo and link the defense to the attack. Ismael pulls wide to stretch the defense before cutting in, while R Furtado looks to exploit the half-spaces. Amine plays as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line. Amine works to hold up the ball and link up play with the incoming runners. The forwards press in pairs to force a long ball and recover possession quickly in the attacking third.
