Guillamón and Mosquera are tasked with being ball playing defenders to start attacks, while also needing to win the second ball and cover the wide areas when the midfield is bypassed.

The midfield is the engine room of Valencia, operating with five players to dominate the center. Gayà and Aarons act as a double pivot to shield the defence and provide stability. Barrenechea and Pepelu operate as inverted eights to connect the play, with Pepelu looking to drive forward with the ball and Barrenechea helping to recycle possession. Guerra plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space and play through the lines to create chances.

In the attacking phase, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Almeida and D. López operate as wide wingers, with Almeida playing on the left and D. López on the right to provide width. They often cut inside to create space for others. Duro operates as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. The attack moves in combinations, using the movement of Guerra to create link-up play between the lines and allow the wingers to attack the far post.
