O.Aina operates on the right as a wide midfielder to provide width and help the wing backs, while A.Iwobi operates on the left to press and transition the ball into the final third. This group works to squeeze the space in the middle to prevent opponents from playing through the lines.

Nigeria utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition defence. V.Osimhen leads the line as a pressing centre-forward who constantly looks to run in behind. On the flanks, S.Chukwueze operates as an inverted winger on the right to cut inside and create chances, while A.Lookman plays on the left to drive at the defence. These players work in combinations to create overloads, often using runs in behind or quick one-twos to find gaps. The front three press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

One major advantage for Nigeria is the ability to hit in behind on the transition with a very fast front three. The formation also offers wide overloads when O.Aina and S.Chukwueze push forward together. This creates situations where the wingers can isolate a one on one against a defender.
