Starting Lineup

Ferencváros focuses on a high press and verticality through a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and hit opponents with quick transitions. The team wants to dominate the middle of the park to push the play forward rapidly.

Gróf stays between the posts to guard the goal. The defensive unit relies on a narrow back two with Gartenmann and Cissé acting as the central defenders. The midfield is the heart of this Ferencváros lineup, operating as a five man unit to control the center. Makreckis and Ćivić work as a double pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Tóth and Keita operate in the half spaces to connect the defence and attack, with Tóth looking to carry the ball forward. Abu Fani plays as the attacking ten behind the striker to find pockets of space and play through the lines. This group is designed to compress the midfield and prevent the opponent from playing out from the back.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Varga acts as the pressing centre forward to lead the line and fight for long balls. On the flanks, Traore and Ćirković act as wide wingers to provide width and isolate defenders in one on one situations. Traore and Ćirković aim to get to the byline and cut it back for the runners. The combination of Varga and Abu Fani allows the team to attack in combinations through the middle.
