Starting Lineup

NICZULY · DUMITRESCU · NINAJ · SIMIC · HARUȚ · MINO SOTA · SKORUP · ȘTEFAN · NESKOVIC · EL SAWI · COMAN

Sepsi OSK looks to play with a high intensity and verticality using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to press high up the pitch and catch opponents out on the transition. The main goal is to stretch the defence and create direct chances through a heavy front line.

NICZULY starts in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back line functions as a flat back four with HARUȚ operating as the right back and DUMITRESCU at left back. SIMIC and NINAJ play as the two central defenders. SIMIC and NINAJ must hold the line and be ready to cover space if the high press is bypassed. HARUȚ and DUMITRESCU are tasked to push high when the team has the ball to provide width, but they must track back quickly to prevent being caught out.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. MINO SOTA and SKORUP are the two central midfielders tasked with shielding the defence. SKORUP and MINO SOTA need to win the second ball and recycle possession to the wide players. One of them will often drop between the centre backs to help play out from the back while the other looks to carry the ball forward. They act as the engine that connects the defensive block to the attacking unit.

The attack relies on four players to pin the opposition back. NESKOVIC and COMAN work as a partnership of two centre forwards. NESKOVIC and COMAN fight for aerial strength and physical presence to win the second ball in the final third. On the flanks, ȘTEFAN and EL SAWI act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread the play. ȘTEFAN and EL SAWI look to cut inside to create more central presence or deliver crosses into the box. This front four is designed to press from the front and force a long ball.

Sepsi OSK gains a significant advantage from the directness of their attacking unit. The 4-2-4 formation allows for wide overloads when the full backs join the attack, creating space for ȘTEFAN and EL SAWI to work in one on one situations. The team also benefits from a high press in coordinated waves, using the four forwards to squeeze the space in the opposition half.

This formation focuses on a direct and aggressive style of play. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to score goals quickly or face an opponent that struggles to play out from the back.
