Alliance United FC plays with an aggressive intent to dominate the ball and pin the opposition in their own half. They use a 2-5-3 formation to ensure they have bodies everywhere in the attacking third. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move the opponent from side to side through constant passing.
To defend, the goalkeeper 1 must be ready to act as a sweeper behind a high line. The defensive unit relies on 27 and 13 in a narrow back two. Since there are only two defenders, 27 and 13 must be incredibly fast to track back and cover the wide areas. They are tasked to play out from the back and use their passing range to break the line. Both 27 and 13 need to win the header during set pieces and stay alert to set the offside trap.
The midfield is the heart of the Alliance United FC system. It functions as a five man block with a double pivot of 17 and 4. These two players sit deep to shield the defense and intercept passes. Ahead of them, 20 works to connect the lines and recycle possession. On the edges of the central group, 6 and 21 play as attacking midfielders in the half spaces. 6 and 21 press aggressively to win the ball back high up the pitch and can carry the ball forward to support the attack. This lineup allows the team to compress the midfield and deny the pivot of the other team.
In the final third, the team employs three attackers. 10 acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of the teammates. 11 and 19 are wide wingers who stay high to stretch the defence. 11 and 19 often cut inside to create chances or pull wide to deliver a cross on the run. The front three press the opposition back line in unison to force a long ball. This creates space for 10 to receive on the half turn and play a quick combination with the midfielders.
One major advantage is the numerical superiority in midfield. By having 17, 4, 20, 6, and 21 all active in the middle, Alliance United FC can easily win the second ball and squeeze the space. Another strength is the ability to press in coordinated waves. The front three and the three attacking midfielders can all trigger a press at the same time to win it back high up the pitch.
This 2-5-3 formation is an aggressive way to hunt for goals and control the tempo. It works best against teams that struggle to play out from the back and can be overwhelmed by high pressure.
