In the center of the pitch, Vitória employs a three-man midfield with an attacking ten. Matheusinho plays in the hole to connect the lines and look for ways to play through the lines. Willian Oliveira and Pepê sit deeper to protect the defense. Willian Oliveira acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball, while Pepê focuses on intercepting passes and winning the second ball. The attack features three players across the front. Fabri acts as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up. Lucas Braga and Wellington Rato play as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central threats. Lucas Braga often pulls wide to stretch the defense before looking to arrive late into the box. Wellington Rato uses his movement to find pockets of space and deliver early crosses. The movement of the front three is designed to create runs in behind and allow for quick combinations in tight spaces. The unit relies on the wingers to pull wide and pin the last defender.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball back high up the pitch. The team also creates wide overloads when Claudinho and Hugo push forward to overlap the wingers. This formation allows for great speed of transition when the ball is won.
