Pisa looks to play with a high press and verticality through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to stretch the opposition by using wide players to create much space and attacking the box with numbers. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and move it forward quickly to catch the defense before they can get set.

Semper starts in goal to command the area. The back line operates as a back three with Bonfanti acting as the left centre back, Canestrelli as the right centre back, and Caracciolo in the middle. Caracciolo acts as the leader in this unit to organize the line and ensure they hold a high line to squeeze the space. These defenders must be able to win the second ball and cover the space behind when the wide players push up.

The midfield relies on a central pairing of Abildgaard and Marin to control the middle. Abildgaard acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball while Marin works to shield the defense and win back possession. On the flanks, Touré and Sernicola operate as attacking wing backs to provide width. They are tasked to overlap the wingers and deliver crosses into the box, while also tracking back to help the defenders when the team loses the ball.

Pisa uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Lind acts as the lone striker and holds up the ball to allow the others to join the attack. Meister and Tramoni play as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances in the half spaces. This movement creates runs in behind and allows the team to combine in tight spaces. The front three press from the front to force the opposition into mistakes and clear the lines.

One major advantage for Pisa is the ability to create wide overloads when Touré and Sernicola push up to join the attackers. This forces the opposition to defend wide areas and leaves gaps in the middle for Abildgaard or Marin to arrive late into the box. The formation also offers speed of transition, allowing the team to break quickly once they win it back in the mid-block.

This 3-4-3 formation is designed for a team that wants to dominate through high pressing and wide play. It is best suited for matches against opponents who play a high line and can be punished by quick transitions.
