River focuses on a high press and quick transitions using a 4-4-2. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack the opposition with verticality. By using two banks of four, the team can squeeze the space in the middle and force turnovers in the final third.

Armani guards the goal while the defensive line maintains a high line to compress the pitch. M. Acuña acts as an attacking full back on the right side to provide width. On the left, G. Montiel plays as an attacking full back to help the ball move forward. M. Quarta and G. Pezzella operate as a central pairing, with Quarta acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks. The back four stays compact to ensure they can shift quickly when the ball moves to either flank.

The midfield operates with a single pivot and three supporting players to control the center. E. Perez acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. K. Castaño and G. Galoppo play as two central midfielders who drive forward with the ball and cover the ground between the lines. M. Rojas plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to create chances and press aggressively to win the ball high. This midfield unit connects the defensive line to the front two through short passing and quick movement.

River utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition defense. M. Borja works as a pressing centre-forward who can hold up the ball to bring others into play. Driusi plays alongside him as a second striker who looks to make runs in behind the defensive line. The attackers work in combinations to split the defense with through balls or quick one-twos. When the team wins the ball back, they look to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opponent out of position.

A major tactical strength for River is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball in dangerous areas. The formation also offers the advantage of wide overloads when M. Acuña and G. Montiel push forward to support the wingers. This creates numerical superiority in the attacking third and forces the opposition to defend deep. The compactness of the two banks of four makes it difficult for opponents to find space between the lines.

This 4-4-2 formation relies on intense pressing and rapid vertical movement to break down opponents. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line or struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
