Fenerbahçe aims to be defensively solid and clinical on the break using a 5-3-2. This formation is built to absorb pressure and use the pace of the forwards to punish mistakes. The lineup relies on a compact defensive block that stays tight to deny space between the lines.

In goal, irfan keeps watch over the back line. The defense operates with a back three consisting of ismail, skriniar, and akçiçek. Ismail acts as the central figure in this trio, while skriniar and akçiçek cover the space to the left and right. The wide defenders, kostic and osayi, act as attacking wing backs. kostic is tasked to push up the left flank to provide width, while osayi uses his pace to cover the right side. This defensive unit works to hold a low block when under pressure and then shifts quickly to cover wide areas.

The midfield uses a three-man midfield with a carrier to manage the center of the pitch. fred works to press aggressively to win the ball high and connects the defensive and attacking lines. şimanski operates in the left half-space to find pockets of space and link play. talis plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to arrive late into the box to score. This group must work hard to protect the back three and ensure they do not get bypassed easily in transition.

Fenerbahçe employs two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition. dzeko plays as a target man, using his strength to hold up the ball and lay it off to runners. nesyri plays as a second striker, often looking to run in behind the defense to exploit gaps. These two forwards press the opposition back line to force errors. The team builds attacks by looking to hit in behind on the transition or using the width provided by kostic and osayi to whip it in towards the two strikers.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to defend in a narrow defensive block, making it very hard for opponents to play through the middle. The presence of two strikers allows the team to attack in combinations, specifically using dzeko to pin the last defender. Fenerbahçe also benefits from the speed of transition when osayi and kostic move forward to join the attack.

This 5-3-2 formation provides a reliable way to sit deep and strike with power. It is best suited for matches against dominant teams where controlling the game through possession is not possible.
