Ajax aims to control matches through a high press and quick transitions using a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup relies on winning the ball high up the pitch to catch the opposition out of position. By using a back five, the team looks to dominate the central areas while leaving space for wing backs to push forward during the attacking phase.

Lucifela starts between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates as a back three with Anni acting as the central anchor to clear the lines and command the area. Rectify plays as the left centre back to cover the space behind the wing back, while Mustangs operates as the right centre back to win the second ball. Casper and Sky function as attacking wing backs who provide the width for Ajax. They must track back quickly to form a narrow defensive block when the team loses possession, ensuring the opposition cannot exploit the wide channels.

The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier and a creative hub. Savi and Wize sit in the middle to shield the defence and win the ball back in a mid block. Savi looks to recycle possession and move the ball between the lines, whereas Wize is tasked to carry the ball forward into the half spaces. Ada plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to connect the midfield and the attack. Ada works to find the feet of the striker and find ways to split the defence with a through ball.

In the final third, the team uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition. Kaiz leads the line as a pressing centre forward to force a long ball from the defenders. Wayback plays alongside as a second striker to make runs in behind the defensive line. The wing backs Casper and Sky provide the width by pushing high to deliver crosses into the box. When the team builds in possession, the wingers pull wide to create space for Ada to arrive late into the box.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when Casper and Sky push up to join the attack. The midfield trio of Savi, Wize, and Ada allows for numerical superiority in the center of the pitch to control the tempo. Additionally, the compact defensive unit makes the team very difficult to break down when they drop into a low block.

This 5-3-2 formation provides a strong balance between defensive solidity and rapid verticality. It is best suited for matches against teams that play with a high line or those that struggle to deal with two central attackers.
