Lajong aims to play a direct and efficient style of football using a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup relies on solid defensive lines and quick transitions to move the ball forward. The team seeks to stay compact and use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition.

MICHEL DANIELRAJ guards the goal as the lone goalkeeper. In front of him, the back four operates as a flat defensive line. BENJAMIN and VIKNESH act as the central defenders, where BENJAMIN covers the left side and VIKNESH handles the right. MARISELVAN plays as the right back to provide defensive stability, while PRAVIN occupies the left back position. The defensive unit works to hold a disciplined line and mark opponents closely to prevent runs in behind.

The midfield is organized into two banks of four to maintain a tight block. NAVIN and KALICHARAN form a central pairing to control the middle of the pitch. NAVIN works to shield the defence and win the second ball, while KALICHARAN tries to carry the ball forward and link the defensive unit to the attack. On the flanks, ANGELIN ARUN plays as the right midfielder and SARAVANAN operates as the left midfielder. These wide players are tasked to track back when out of possession and provide width when the team wins the ball.

Lajong employs two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. VIGNESH KUMAR plays as the left striker and SHANMUGA MANI operates as the right striker. When the team moves into transition, the wide midfielders look to whip it in or find the feet of the striker to create chances in the box.
