Real Kashmir aims to win the ball back high up the pitch and attack with verticality through a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup relies on a strong defensive block and quick transitions to catch opponents out of position. The side seeks to use width in the final third to stretch the opposition back line and create chances for the lone striker.

Bala sits between the posts to command his area. In front of him, the defense operates in a back five. Sanjith acts as the central anchor to hold the line, while Dheeraj and Aadhithya operate as the left and right centre-backs to cover the space behind the wing backs. Suseel plays as the right wing back to provide width and track back when needed, whereas Ram Virath operates as the left wing back to push up the flank. This unit works to stay compact and defend zonally to deny the turn to oncoming attackers.

The midfield utilizes a two man pairing to connect the defense and attack. Jegan and Gopihan occupy the central zones to control the tempo. Jegan looks to carry the ball forward and drive into the half spaces, while Gopihan works to shield the defense and recycle possession. They must work together to win the second ball and ensure they do not get bypassed in the middle of the park. This duo is responsible for finding the feet of the striker or playing through the lines to the wide players.

Attacking movements focus on three players across the front to pin the last defender. Farooq operates as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition build up. On the flanks, Monish and Alagu Venkatesh act as wide wingers to stretch the pitch. Monish looks to cut inside to create goal scoring opportunities, while Alagu Venkatesh stays wide to deliver crosses into the box. The team looks to break quickly in transition, using runs in behind to exploit any space left by a high defensive line.

Real Kashmir possesses the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. The formation offers a high level of compactness when defending, making it difficult for opponents to find gaps between the lines. By using the wing backs to create wide overloads, the team can isolate wide players in one on one situations to gain an advantage.

This 5-2-3 formation is built to absorb pressure and hit opponents on the break. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and leave space behind their defenders.
