Al-Nassr (KSA) Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Al-Aqidi · Al- Fatil · Laporte · Al- Ghannam · Konan · Brozovic · Al- khaibari · Ghareeb · S. (Mane) · Otavio · C. (Ronaldo)Al-Nassr (KSA) looks to dominate through a heavy central presence and high volume of passing using a 2-6-2 formation. This lineup is built to control the middle of the pitch and squeeze the opposition in their own half. By packing the center, the team aims to keep the ball and limit the space available to the opponent to turn and play.
Al-Aqidi stays between the posts to command his area. The defensive unit relies on a very narrow back two of Al-Fatil and Laporte. Laporte acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back while Al-Fatil provides cover. Because there are only two defenders, they must hold the line carefully and be ready to step up to set the offside trap against runners in behind.
The massive midfield block is the engine for Al-Nassr (KSA). Konan and Al-Ghannam sit in a deep pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. In front of them, Brozovic and Al-Khaibari operate as central midfielders to control the tempo and win the second ball. Ghareeb and Otavio play as attacking midfielders in the half spaces, looking to create chances and link with the front two. Brozovic uses his wide passing range to switch play and find teammates across the pitch.
The attack is led by a partnership of two forwards, C. and S. They operate as a duo to press from the front and hunt the ball high up the pitch. C. and S. work to find pockets of space between the opponent's defenders to receive the ball and turn. The movement relies on the midfielders to find them with through balls or quick combinations to isolate defenders in one on one situations.
This formation offers significant numerical superiority in midfield, making it very difficult for opponents to find passing lanes through the center. The concentration of players allows Al-Nassr to win the ball back high up the pitch and sustain constant pressure. The heavy central density also makes the team very hard to break down through the middle.
This setup prioritizes extreme central control and high pressing to dominate the ball. It is best suited for games where the team needs to pin an opponent back and control the rhythm through a crowded midfield.
