A.Herrera and K.Zenón play as inverted eights, with Zenón looking to carry the ball forward and Herrera driving into the half spaces. C.Palacios operates as an attacking ten behind the strikers to connect the lines and play through the lines. This midfield group seeks to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly to move the team up the pitch.

Boca uses a two-man strike force to pressure the opposition back line. E.Cavani (C) leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, using his movement to pin the last defender. He works in a partnership with M.Merentiel, who acts as a second striker to link up play between the lines. The attackers work to pull wide and create space for late runs from the midfield. They often combine in tight spaces to find the feet of the striker or knock it in behind.
