A.Rossi operates between the posts to organize the back line. Flamengo uses a flat back four where Wesley acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the right. On the left, Alex Sandro offers experience and can overlap to support the attack. Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira form the central pairing, with Léo Ortiz acting as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back. Léo Pereira provides aerial strength and covers the space behind the full backs to maintain a solid defensive line.

The midfield is a dense block designed to dominate the center of the pitch. Erick acts as a single pivot to shield the defense and disrupt opposition play. Beside him, N.de la Cruz presses aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch. Gerson (C) operates in the right half space, using his passing range to connect the defensive and attacking lines. B.Henrique and G.de Arrascaeta occupy the remaining central roles, with G.de Arrascaeta looking to play through the lines with his vision. This group works to recycle possession and ensure the team maintains control.

Pedro leads the line as a lone pressing centre-forward. He holds up the ball to allow the midfielders to push forward and provides a focal point for long balls. The attackers rely on the midfielders to arrive late into the box to support him. When attacking, the team uses the width provided by Wesley and Alex Sandro to stretch the defense. Pedro works to pin the last defender, creating space for Gerson (C) and G.de Arrascaeta to operate in the pockets between the lines.

One major advantage for Flamengo is the numerical superiority in midfield which makes it difficult for opponents to play through the center. The ability to press in a mid-block allows the team to force a long ball and win the second ball. Furthermore, the movement of the full backs creates wide overloads that pull the opposition out of position.

This 4-5-1 formation focuses on central control and intense pressing to dictate play. It is a setup best suited for matches where the team needs to dominate possession and suffocate the opponent in their own half.
