The goal is to use the width provided by the wingers to create space in the middle for Bican or late runs from the midfield.

One major strength of this Czechia lineup is the ability to hit in behind on the transition. The speed of the front three allows the team to counter at pace once Masopust or Panenka intercept the ball. Another advantage is the ability to press in a mid-block, making it difficult for the opposition to build out from the back without making mistakes.
