Instituto focuses on a direct and aggressive way of playing, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation. The team aims to win the ball high up the pitch and use verticality to catch opponents off guard. This lineup is built to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch while maintaining enough width to stretch the opposition defense through quick transitions.

Navas guards the goal, acting as the last line of defense when the team plays a high line. The defensive unit functions as a back three, with Ramussen and Velasquez acting as the wide center backs to cover the flanks. Alarcon sits in the center of this trio to command the area and win headers. When the opposition attacks, the wide center backs must shift wide to cover space, while Alarcon stays central to block the runner and manage the depth.

The midfield operates with two central midfielders and two wide players to maintain control. Lodico and Gutierres form the central pairing, where Lodico works to connect the defensive and attacking lines while Gutierres looks to drive forward with the ball. Sarachi and Bustos operate as wide midfielders, tasked to provide width and track back to support the back three when defending. This group works to press in a mid-block, forcing the opponent toward the touchlines and winning the second ball to restart attacks.

In the final third, Instituto uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Vegetti acts as the central striker, using his aerial strength to hold up the ball and target crosses. Barrios and H.Lopez occupy the wide areas as inverted wingers who cut inside to create space for the wide midfielders. The attack relies on quick combinations to split the defence with a through ball or finding the feet of the striker in tight spaces. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opponent.

One major advantage for Instituto is the ability to create wide overloads when Sarachi and Bustos push up to join the wingers. The team also benefits from a high press in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press that the central midfielders can jump into. This creates high pressure in the opponent half, allowing the team to win it back high up the pitch and attack immediately.
