Anyang Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Natsu · Faded/wando · archangel · Visuals (Serp) · Stef · Hexer · Ursa · Sora · Law · Jayde · VeloAnyang focuses on a direct and aggressive style of play using a 2-4-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition in the final third by committing high numbers forward. The goal is to win the ball and immediately push into the attacking zones to catch the defense out of position.
Natsu guards the goal as the lone man in the defensive line. The back line consists of a two man unit featuring Sora and Faded/wando. These central defenders must act as covering defenders, stepping up to intercept passes and managing the space behind them. Since there are only two, they often have to deal with high pressure while trying to play out from the back. The defensive unit relies on speed and quick recovery to stop threats.
In the middle of the pitch, the team employs a four man midfield that links the defense to the attack. Ursa operates as a single pivot to shield the two center backs and win the second ball. Hexer and Law play as central midfielders to control the tempo and carry the ball forward through the middle. Velo acts as an attacking ten, looking to play through the lines and find the strikers. This group works to compress the midfield and win it back high up the pitch when possession is lost.
The attacking front line is extremely potent with four players positioned to attack. Visuals and archangel work as a pair of center forwards, using their presence to pin the last defender and provide a central threat. On the flanks, Jayde and Stef act as wide wingers who spread the defense wide. Jayde and Stef often look to cut inside to create more central presence or deliver crosses into the box. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.
Anyang gains a significant advantage through numerical superiority in the attacking zones. By having four players near the opposition box, they create constant pressure and force mistakes. The team also benefits from the ability to transition quickly, using the midfield to find the forwards as soon as the ball is recovered. This creates many one on one situations for the wide players.
This 2-4-4 formation is designed for high risk, high reward football that prioritizes attacking numbers. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to break down a deep block through sheer volume of players in the final third.
