To his sides, Raux Yao and Cvetkovic provide coverage, with Raux Yao operating as a ball playing defender to start attacks from the back. J. Auer and Bolla act as attacking wing backs, pushing high up the pitch to provide width while ensuring they track back to maintain a narrow defensive block when out of possession.

A two man midfield serves as the engine room for SK Rapid, tasking Sangaré and Oswald with controlling the center of the park. Sangaré works to shield the defense and win the second ball, while Oswald looks to carry the ball forward to connect the defensive and attacking lines.
