Talleres plays with an aggressive, vertical identity using a 4-2-4. This formation is built to play a direct game that seeks to overwhelm the opposition through constant pressure. The goal is to stay high up the pitch and use the width of the field to stretch the defence.

CAVIA provides the foundation from the goalkeeper position. The defensive line functions as a flat back four with PEREZ at right back and BASUALDO at left back. In the center, TERRUSI and AQUINO act as the central defenders. PEREZ and BASUALDO are tasked to overlap the winger when possible, but they must also track back to cover the wide areas. TERRUSI and AQUINO play a high line to squeeze the space and keep the team compact. They focus on winning the header and clearing the lines when the ball is played deep.

In the center of the pitch, the team utilizes a double pivot consisting of NENZU and BENITEZ. These two players act to shield the defence and win the second ball in the middle third. NENZU and BENITEZ are responsible for receiving the ball on the half turn to progress through the thirds. They must work to pick up runners and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines. When the team loses possession, NENZU and BENITEZ drop into a mid block to deny the turn and protect the central areas.

The attacking unit is heavy with four players across the front. TREVISAN and VILLALBA operate as two centre forwards who work to pin the last defender. ALMIRON and FERREYRA act as wide wingers to provide the necessary width. ALMIRON often looks to cut inside to combine in tight spaces, while FERREYRA aims to get to the byline and whip it in. This front four is designed to create runs in behind and force the opposition to defend in wide areas. TREVISAN and VILLALBA often hold up the ball to allow the wingers to join the attack.

The main tactical advantage of this lineup is the numerical superiority in the attacking zone. Having four players against a standard four man defence allows Talleres to create wide overloads and isolate players in one on one situations. The team can also press from the front in coordinated waves. ALMIRON, FERREYRA, TREVISAN, and VILLALBA work to trigger a press the moment the ball is lost. This allows the team to win it back high up the pitch and strike quickly.

The Talleres 4-2-4 is an attacking formation that relies on high intensity and rapid transitions. It is best suited for matches against teams that sit deep and struggle to deal with constant pressure in their own box.
