Mohammedan Football Formation
Starting Lineup
CHETRI · RALTE · BURCA · OGIER · ZOHERLIANA · KASIMOV · GOMEZ · BENNETT · CHOTHE · MANZOKI · CAMPBELLMohammedan focuses on a high press to win the ball high up the pitch using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to play with verticality and heavy pressure on the opposition. The team looks to squeeze the space in the opponent half to create quick chances.
CHETRI stays between the posts to command the area. The back line functions as a flat back four that can step up to set the offside trap. ZOHERLIANA acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the right, while RALTE looks to overlap on the left. In the middle, OGIER and BURCA defend as central defenders, with OGIER acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks and BURCA providing cover. The unit works to hold a compact shape to deny the turn of any oncoming attackers.
The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier. KASIMOV operates as the left sided midfielder to help control the tempo and connect the lines. GOMEZ plays in the right central role to help recycle possession and shield the defence. BENNETT plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find the feet of the attackers and arrive late into the box. This trio works to compress the midfield and win the second ball to keep the pressure on.
Mohammedan uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. MANZOKI leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition. CHOTHE and CAMPBELL act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread wide and create space in the middle. These forwards press from the front to disrupt the build up. They look to break quickly and hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition defense out of position.
This lineup offers the advantage of being able to press high in coordinated waves to force mistakes. The team also creates wide overloads from the overlapping full backs to pull the opposition wide. By using the movement of BENNETT between the lines, the team can create numerical superiority in the final third.
This 4-3-3 formation relies on heavy pressure and rapid transitions to dominate games. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under intense pressure.
