DLP sits in the left central midfield role to act as the deep lying playmaker, looking to recycle possession and switch play. Beside him, BBM works as the right central midfielder to drive forward with the ball and win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. This duo must work to protect the space between the lines and ensure they do not get bypassed during transitions.

The attacking unit is highly aggressive with four players pushing the opposition back line. AP operates as the centre forward to link up play and find the feet of the striker, while the other CF works to find space in the channels. On the flanks, IF cuts inside from the left wing to create central threats, and W stays wide on the right wing to stretch the defence. This combination of inverted wingers and wide players creates many options for cutbacks from the byline and runs in behind.

One major advantage for Arsenal is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win it back high up the pitch. The presence of four attackers allows the team to isolate wide players in one on one situations once the ball reaches the final third. Furthermore, the numerical superiority in the attacking line can overwhelm a standard four man defence.
