Starting Lineup

Martin · Tana · Ben · Tofic · Sammy · Mole · Omega · Pascal · Nimo · Danny · Stephen/AT

Arsenal looks to play a high press and vertical game with this 4-2-4 formation. The lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and catch the opposition during quick transitions. This system relies on intense running and direct movement to stretch the defence and create scoring opportunities.

Martin operates between the posts to guard the goal. The back four features Tofic as the right back and Sammy as the left back, both tasked with managing the wide areas. Ben and Tana act as the central defenders, where Tana holds a line to manage the space behind the high defensive block. The defensive unit must remain compact and ready to shift quickly when the ball moves across the pitch to prevent being caught out on the break.

A double pivot provides the engine for Arsenal in the middle of the pitch. Mole and Omega work together to protect the central zone and win the second ball. Omega helps to shield the defence, while Mole drives forward with the ball to link the back line to the attack. These two players must be disciplined to cover the space left behind when the full backs push up, ensuring they do not get bypassed easily.

The attacking line is extremely aggressive with four players pushing high. Danny and Pascal act as wide attackers, with Danny operating on the right and Pascal on the left to provide width. Nimo and Stephen/AT operate as a central partnership, with Stephen/AT acting as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition centre-backs. This setup creates many runs in behind and uses the width of the pitch to pull defenders out of position, allowing for quick combinations in the final third.

This formation offers the advantage of being able to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opposition. Arsenal can also create wide overloads when Tofic or Sammy overlap the wingers to send crosses into the box. The presence of two central strikers pins the last defender and creates space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

This 4-2-4 formation is built for a heavy attacking game that seeks to overwhelm the opponent. It is best suited for matches where the team wants to dominate through high pressure and rapid transitions.
