In the attacking third, Poland utilizes three attackers across the front. Szarmach acts as a target man to hold up the ball and provide a focal point for long balls. Lato and Gadocha operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide width. These wingers look to cut inside to create goalscoring chances or deliver a cross on the run. The movement of the forwards is designed to pull the last defender out of position and create runs in behind.
