In the center of the pitch, a double pivot of CASEMIRO and UGARTE provides the foundation. CASEMIRO works to shield the defense, using his ability to intercept and disrupt play to stop attacks before they reach the back line. UGARTE works alongside him to press the ball and win the second ball. To provide the width, DORGU and MAZRAOUI push up the flanks, acting as wide midfielders who help move the ball from the middle to the attacking third and provide support when the team wins possession.

The attacking unit features three players positioned to stretch the opposition. GARNACHO stays wide on the left to cut inside and drive at the defense, while FERNANDES occupies the right side to create chances with his passing range. HOJLUND leads the line as a pressing centre forward, constantly looking to run in behind or link up with the wide players. The team looks to hit in behind on the transition, using the pace of the front three to exploit gaps in the opposition defense.

One major strength of this Man Utd formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. When the front three press, the midfield duo of CASEMIRO and UGARTE is ready to squeeze the space and win it back high up the pitch. Another advantage is the speed of transition.
