Arsenal seeks to control games through high pressing and quick transitions in a 5-2-3. Timber works as the right wing back to provide width and overlap the winger, while MLS acts as the left wing back to push high and cross the ball into the box. This unit stays narrow when defending to protect the middle and force a long ball.

The midfield functions with a two man unit. Rice operates as the left central midfielder to shield the defense and tackle opponents in the middle. Odegaard plays as the right central midfielder to link the defense and attack, using his passing range to find teammates. These two must work hard to cover the gaps between the lines and ensure the team stays compact when the opponent tries to play through the middle.

Arsenal uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Saka plays as the right winger and likes to cut inside to create goal scoring opportunities. Williams operates on the left to provide width and stretch the defense. The lone striker stays central to hold up the ball and fight for second balls. This frontline is designed to press the opposition back line and create runs in behind through quick combinations.
