Real Betis aim to play a high press with a vertical style of play using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move it quickly to the forwards to catch the opposition out of position. The goal is to keep the game moving forward and use heavy pressure to disrupt the opponent.

Adrián plays between the posts to organize the back line. Real Betis defend with a flat back four consisting of Ruibal at right back and Perraud at left back. Natan and Bartra act as the central defenders, with Bartra often covering and Natan providing strength in the air. The full backs are expected to push up to provide width, while the central defenders must hold the line and defend zonally to prevent runs in behind.

The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier and technical creators. Altimira occupies the central role to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while WCarvalho and JesúsRguez occupy the side positions to press aggressively and win the second ball. These players must squeeze the space in the middle to prevent opponents from playing through the lines. They work to recycle possession and drive forward with the ball to support the front three.

In the attacking third, the team uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. CuchoHdez acts as the pressing centre-forward, looking to find the feet of the striker or run in behind. LoCelso and Abde operate as wide wingers, with Abde looking to cut inside to create more central presence. The front line works to trigger a press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long balls that the defensive unit can intercept.

One tactical advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build out from the back. The wide players also create opportunities to isolate wide players in one on one situations when they get the ball in space. Additionally, the midfield trio provides enough coverage to maintain compactness when defending.

Real Betis utilize this 4-3-3 to dominate games through aggressive pressing and quick transitions. This formation is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
