Starting Lineup

Youme · Engard · Vlad · Yurkyu · Sloppy · XDRED · Ace · Pakora · Kosky · Relaxed · Dragaba

Ajax focuses on heavy verticality and high pressing through a 3-3-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition by flooding the final third and winning the ball high up the pitch. The goal is to force turnovers in advanced areas and attack with massive numbers to stretch the opposition defense.

Youme operates between the posts to manage the high line. The defensive unit consists of a back three where Vlad sits central to command the area. Engard plays as the left centre back and Yurkyu occupies the right centre back role. These defenders must stay compact to cover the space left behind during attacks. Vlad must win the header and clear the lines whenever the opposition tries to play long, while Engard and Yurkyu focus on covering runners and stepping up to intercept passes.

The midfield works as a three man midfield with a carrier. Dragaba sits as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Pakora and Sloppy operate in the half spaces to connect the defense and attack. Pakora works to press aggressively to win the ball high, while Sloppy seeks to carry the ball forward into the attacking third. This trio must remain disciplined to avoid being bypassed when the team loses possession.

Ajax utilizes four attackers to pin the last defender and create chaos. Relaxed and Kosky work as a central partnership, with one acting as a pressing centre forward to harass the ball carriers. Ace and XDRED operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull the opposition defense apart. The attack is designed to create runs in behind and isolate wide players in one on one situations. These forwards must coordinate their movement to provide support for one another during quick transitions.

One major advantage for Ajax is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very hard for opponents to play out from the back. The formation also creates massive wide overloads as the wingers and midfielders push high together. This heavy presence in the final third forces the opposition to drop deep and defend in a low block, which opens space for the central strikers to exploit.

This 3-3-4 formation is a high risk, high reward setup designed for total dominance. It is best suited for games where Ajax needs to break down a parked bus or overwhelm a less technical opponent through sheer volume of attacking movement.
