The midfield uses a three man midfield with a carrier to move the team forward. Ampadu sits in the left central midfield role to shield the defence and intercept passes. Tanaka operates in the right central midfield position to drive forward with the ball and connect the lines. Baturina plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to play through the lines and find the feet of the striker in tight spaces.
