Juan Aurich Football Formation
Starting Lineup
ARON · VÍCTOR · ERICSSON · DANIEL · RÜDIGER CESAR · JORGE · PELIGUEY · FRANCISCO · DENNIS · CARLOS · ALFONSOJuan Aurich employs a vertical style of play within a 4-3-3 formation. The identity of the team focuses on quick transitions and using the full width of the pitch to break the lines. This lineup is built to hit teams on the break and exploit spaces behind the opposition defensive unit.
ARON guards the goal and manages the defensive unit from the back. The team defends with a flat back four that can shift as a unit. DENNIS operates as the left back to provide width while DANIEL plays as the right back. In the heart of the defence, ALFONSO and RÜDIGER CESAR act as the central defenders. ALFONSO and RÜDIGER CESAR must hold the line and stay compact to prevent through balls. The full backs are required to track back and cover the wide areas when the team is out of possession.
The midfield is a three-man midfield where JORGE sits in the center to shield the defence. JORGE works to recycle possession and connect the back four to the attackers. On the left and right of him, PELIGUEY and CARLOS act as the engine of the team. PELIGUEY and CARLOS are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and carry the ball forward. This trio allows Juan Aurich to control the tempo and find the feet of the striker during the buildup.
The attacking front features three attackers across the front line. ERICSSON leads the line as a lone striker who can hold up the ball and wait for support. VÍCTOR and FRANCISCO play as wide wingers who hug the touchline to stretch the defence. VÍCTOR and FRANCISCO look to cut inside to find space or run to the byline to whip it in. This movement creates opportunities for ERICSSON to attack the near post or the far post when the wingers deliver the ball.
A significant tactical advantage for this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. When PELIGUEY and CARLOS push up, they can trigger a press to win the ball back in dangerous areas. The formation also offers the chance to create wide overloads when DENNIS and DANIEL overlap the winger. This forces the opposition to defend much more space and can isolate players in one on one situations.
This 4-3-3 formation is built for high speed transitions and effective wing play. It is most effective against opponents that play a high line and struggle to defend against quick runs in behind.
