Starting Lineup

FCSB aims to control the tempo through a high press and rapid verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation works to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch and uses quick transitions to catch the opposition out of position. By playing with high intensity, the team seeks to win the ball back high up the pitch to create immediate goalscoring opportunities.

Tudor stays between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The lineup uses a flat back four where Dadu plays as the right back to provide width and support the attack. On the left, Bibire acts as an attacking full back to push forward. Steluta and Constantin form the central defensive pairing, with Steluta acting as a ball playing defender to initiate play while Constantin provides cover and stays deep to handle any direct runs.

A three man midfield provides the engine for FCSB. Cozma plays as one of the central midfielders to shield the defence and win the second ball. Radu operates in the left central midfield role to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Dragos plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space between the lines and play through the lines to the forwards. This midfield group works to compress the midfield and prevent the opponent from playing through the centre.

The attacking line uses three players to stretch the defence. Dascalu acts as a pressing centre forward to lead the line and hold up the ball for others. Jitaru plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create chances, while Farcas stays wider on the right to provide service. The team attacks in combinations, using the movement of the wide players to create runs in behind or to allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The team can create wide overloads when Dadu or Bibire push forward to overlap the wingers. There is also a strong ability to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and Dragos working together to trigger a press. This setup makes the team very difficult to play through, especially when they can win it back high up the pitch.

FCSB utilizes this 4-3-3 to dominate possession and strike quickly in transition. It is a formation best suited for games against teams that play a high defensive line or struggle to deal with intense pressure.
