Starting Lineup

FCSB relies on a high press and quick transitions to control games using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup seeks to win the ball high up the pitch and immediately push the lines forward to catch the opposition out of position. Tudor operates between the posts to provide security from the back. The defensive unit uses a flat back four where Dadu acts as an overlapping full back on the right side to provide width. On the left, Bibire covers the flank and supports the central pairing of Steluta and Constantin. Steluta and Constantin defend zonally to manage space, with Steluta often stepping up to intercept passes while Constantin provides cover. This unit stays compact to prevent through balls and maintains a high line to keep the team close together.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a single pivot. Radu sits in front of the defence to shield the back four and recycle possession when the team needs to slow the tempo. Cozma and Dragos operate as the two central midfielders who drive forward with the ball to connect the lines. Cozma looks to carry the ball into the half spaces, while Dragos works to press aggressively in a mid-block to win the ball back. This trio works to control the center of the pitch and ensures the team can move from defence to attack with speed.

In the final third, FCSB utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the opposition defenders. Dascalu acts as a pressing centre-forward who works to disrupt the build up play of the opponent. Jitaru stays wide on the left as an inverted winger who wants to cut inside to shoot or create, while Farcas plays on the right to stretch the play. The attackers look to create runs in behind or find the feet of the striker through quick combinations. They often use the width to pull defenders out of position before looking to split the defence with a through ball.

One major advantage of this FCSB formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force long balls. The setup also allows for wide overloads when Dadu and Bibire push up to support the wingers. By keeping the midfield trio compact, the team creates numerical superiority in the central areas to dominate the game.
