Starting Lineup

FCSB looks to control games through a high press and aggressive vertical play using a 4-3-3. This lineup focuses on winning the ball high up the pitch and using quick transitions to catch the opposition before they can set their defensive block. The goal is to use width and central penetration to stretch the opposition.

Tudor sits between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line functions as a flat back four that looks to step up and squeeze the space. Bubire plays as the left back to provide width, while Duda operates as the right back. In the middle, Steluta and Constantin act as the central defenders, with Steluta often acting as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back. They work to maintain a high line and catch runners in offside traps.

The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier and a creative ten. Dragos plays in the hole as an attacking ten to find pockets of space between the lines. Cozma and Radu operate in the central areas to connect the defense to the attack. Cozma acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball, while Radu works to shield the defense and recycle possession. They aim to win the second ball to keep the pressure on the opponent.

In the attacking third, FCSB utilizes three attackers to pin the last defender. Edi acts as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line and hold up the ball for his teammates. Farcas stays wide on the left as an inverted winger who looks to cut inside and create chances. Jitaru plays on the right wing to stretch the defense and provide crosses. This front line works to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

One major advantage for FCSB is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opposition. The formation also offers wide overloads when the full backs push up to support the wingers. This allows the team to create numerical superiority in the final third.
