Starting Lineup

Mosin · Muazim · Dawood · Amaan · Miqdad · Tayyab · Faizan · Zakir · Sayem · Furqan · Kamran

PSG focuses on a high pressing and vertical style of play using a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition in their own half and quicken the tempo through the middle. By pushing many players forward, the team aims to dominate the pitch and win the ball back high up the pitch immediately after losing it.

Mosin sits between the posts to manage the defense from the back. The defensive unit relies on a narrow back two consisting of Furqan and Sayem. These central defenders must act as covering players, often stepping up to intercept passes or engaging the striker early to prevent them from turning. Because the formation uses only two central defenders, they must be brave when facing counter attacks and communicate constantly to manage the space behind them.

The midfield is the engine of this PSG system, working in a heavy five man block. Amaan plays as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. To his sides, Kamran and Dawood occupy the left and right central midfield roles, acting as carriers to drive forward with the ball. Miqdad operates in the center to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while Tayyab plays as the advanced ten behind the striker to create chances in tight spaces. This dense midfield group works to compress the midfield and squeeze the space available to the opponent.

The attacking front three is designed to stretch the defence and punish mistakes. Zakir acts as the central striker, working to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the flanks, Faizan and Muazim play as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread the play wide. They look to isolate a one on one situation against full backs or cut inside to deliver early balls into the box. The movement of Zakir and the wingers is designed to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

A major strength of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The numerical superiority in midfield allows the team to control the center of the pitch and win the second ball frequently. Additionally, the presence of five players in the middle block ensures that the team can quickly shift to cover wide areas or pack the center when defending.

This 2-5-3 formation is a high risk, high reward system built for total domination. It is best suited for games where the team faces a lower block and needs to break down a parked defence through sheer numbers.
