Inter aims to dominate through high pressing and rapid transitions in a 3-5-2. This formation works to control the pitch by keeping players close together and using width to stretch the opposition. The Inter lineup relies on heavy physical presence and technical quality to win the ball high up the pitch and move it forward quickly.

Neuer sits between the posts to organize the defense. The back line functions as a back three, with Virgil acting as the central defender to win the header and clear the lines. Bastoni operates as the left centre-back, ready to step up into midfield or carry the ball forward, while Darmian plays as the right centre-back to cover the space. This trio maintains a high line to squeeze the space and keep the team compact.

A three-man midfield serves as the engine room for the side. Rodri acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Beside him, Macc Allister and Accurate work as inverted eights to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Macc Allister looks to press aggressively to win the ball high, while Accurate finds ways to play through the lines. They help the team control the center of the pitch and ensure they always have passing options to build from the back.

The attack relies on two forwards working in close combinations. Einstein and Messi lead the line as a partnership to trouble the opposition back line. Messi uses his dribbling style and passing range to drop into pockets of space, while Einstein acts as a pressing centre-forward to force long balls from the opponent. Dumfriez and Dimarco provide the width as attacking wing backs, constantly looking to overlap the winger and deliver crosses into the box.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. Because the wing backs are so high, the team can trap opponents near their own goal. Another advantage is the numerical superiority in midfield when the wing backs push up, making it difficult for opponents to find space. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when Messi or Einstein receive the ball in space.

This 3-5-2 setup creates a very tough unit that is difficult to break down centrally. It is a formation best suited for facing teams that play with a single pivot or struggle to deal with wide overloads.
