The attack features a partnership of two forwards, Einstein and Messi, who work in close combinations. Einstein operates as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition back line, while Messi plays as a second striker in the hole to find the feet of the striker and link up play. Width is provided by Dimarco on the left and Dumfriez on the right. Both Dimarco and Dumfriez act as attacking wing backs who push high to provide crosses and create wide overloads.

This formation offers great strength in terms of numerical superiority in midfield when the wing backs push up. The team can also use the speed of transition to catch opponents out of position. By having a compact central block, Inter make it difficult for opponents to play through the middle, forcing them to play wide where the wing backs can squeeze the space.
