Arsenal intends to control games through central dominance and quick verticality, utilizing a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup relies on heavy pressure and quick transitions to overwhelm the opposition in the middle of the pitch. The goal is to win the ball back high up the pitch and immediately look to break the lines to reach the attackers.

Klanac operates between the posts to oversee the defensive unit. The back three consists of Gadou, Ede, and Dixon, who sit in a narrow defensive block. Gadou acts as the central anchor, while Ede and Dixon cover the wide channels to prevent runners from getting behind. These three defenders must stay compact to protect the space in front of the goal and ensure they do not get pulled out of position.

The midfield is the engine of this Arsenal side, featuring a three-man midfield with a carrier. Darboe sits in the center to shield the defense and recycle possession, allowing the others to push higher. Orford and Sidibé operate as inverted eights, looking to drive forward with the ball and join the attack. The wide players, Shaw and Hamdaoui, act as wing backs to provide width, stretching the defense and helping to win the ball back when the team loses it.

In the final third, the team uses two forwards in a partnership. Stoian and Domènech work closely together to pin the last defender and create space for the midfielders. Stoian often acts as a pressing centre-forward to force long balls from the opposition, while Domènech looks to link up play between the lines. The wing backs, Shaw and Hamdaoui, will often overlap the winger to provide crosses and support the two strikers in the box.

This formation provides significant tactical advantages through numerical superiority in midfield. By having three central players and two wide midfielders, Arsenal can easily overwhelm teams playing with a two-man midfield. Additionally, the ability to shift into a five-man defensive block when out of possession makes the team very hard to break down in deep areas.

This 3-5-2 setup is built to dominate the central areas of the pitch through aggressive pressing and quick ball movement. It is best suited for games where the opposition plays a narrow formation and can be bypassed through wide overloads.
