Z. Emery (R. Onyedika) · V. Vitinhia (F. Ruiz) · J. Nêves (F. Mastantuono) · N. Mendes (D. Udogie) · W. Pacho (L. Hernandez) · Marquinhos (C. Mosquera) · A. Hakimi (T. Araújo) · G. Donnaruma (M. Safonov) · K. Kvaratskhelia (B. Barcola) · D. Doué (R. Mora) · O. Dembélé (G. Ramos)

PSG focuses on a heavy high press and verticality within a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and attack the opposition defense with speed and directness. The team looks to control the tempo by squeezing the space in the middle of the pitch and forcing mistakes from the opponent.

O. Dembélé stays between the posts to provide a solid foundation for the defense. The back line operates as a flat back four where D. Doué plays as the left back to provide width and K. Kvaratskhelia covers the right side. In the center, J. Nêves and V. Vitinhia work as a central defensive pairing, with J. Nêves acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks. The unit moves together to maintain a high line and set the offside trap when the ball is played deep.

The midfield consists of a single pivot and four attacking players working in close proximity. Z. Emery sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and protect the central zone. Next to him, A. Hakimi and N. Mendes operate in the central areas to drive forward with the ball and link the defensive and attacking lines. W. Pacho and Marquinhos play in the half spaces to create passing lanes and push into the final third to support the lone striker.

PSG utilizes a lone striker in G. Donnaruma who acts as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line. The attacking unit relies on the movement of W. Pacho and Marquinhos to create combinations in the pockets of space. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition by finding runs in behind. The goal is to stretch the defence by using the wide movement of the midfielders to create cutbacks from the byline.

This formation offers the ability to press high in coordinated waves to disrupt the opponent. PSG can also create wide overloads when the midfielders push high to support the wingers. The compact nature of the midfield allows the team to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly.

The 4-5-1 formation is built to dominate games through aggressive pressing and rapid transitions. This lineup is best suited for matches against teams that try to build out from the back under pressure.
