Starting Lineup

Mikiada · Tudor · Steluta · Constantin · Dadu · Bibire · Cozma · Jitaru · Dragos · Edi · Farcas

FCSB looks to control matches through a high press and quick verticality using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and immediately look to strike. The team wants to play with intensity to unsettle the opponent, using high energy to force mistakes in the opposition half.

Mikiada operates between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four functions as a zonal line where Tudor plays as the left back and Dadu acts as the right back. Tudor and Dadu provide width to help the attack, while Steluta and Constantin form the central pair. Steluta and Constantin focus on defending zonally and winning the second ball to keep the play moving. This defensive unit works together to squeeze the space and prevent the opposition from playing out from the back.

The midfield utilizes a three-man midfield with a single pivot. Cozma sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. Jitaru and Bibire operate as the two more advanced midfielders, tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high. Jitaru works to carry the ball forward, while Bibire looks to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This group of three ensures the team can protect the center while preparing to move the ball quickly to the flanks.

In the attacking phase, FCSB employs three attackers across the front. Dragos acts as the lone striker, working to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. Farcas plays as the left winger and Edi operates on the right wing. Edi and Farcas are tasked to stretch the defence by staying wide, creating room for the midfielders to arrive late into the box. The team often looks to hit in behind on the transition, using the speed of the front three to catch the opposition out of position.

One major tactical advantage for FCSB is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it hard for opponents to build play. The formation also offers the ability to create wide overloads when Tudor and Dadu push up to support the wingers. This creates situations where the team can isolate wide players in one on one battles to progress through the thirds.

This 4-3-3 formation provides a balanced way to control the tempo while remaining dangerous on the break. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play through a heavy press.
