Macará Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Buenaño · Abalde (Uru) · Caballero (Per) · Leguía (Per) · Bottero (Uru) · Feraud · Ayala (Par) · M.Corozo · Quiñónes · G.Corozo · MoraMacará focuses on a heavy vertical game through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to catch opponents in transition and use high volume attacking numbers to overwhelm the back line. The goal is to play direct and wide to stretch the opposition.
Mora guards the goal as the lone goalkeeper. The defensive unit works as a flat back four to maintain a solid line. G.Corozo operates as the right back to provide width, while Quiñónes handles the left back role. In the middle, M.Corozo acts as a ball playing defender on the right, with Ayala (Par) providing cover on the left. They aim to hold a high line to squeeze the space and win the second ball.
A double pivot forms the heart of the midfield to connect the defence to the attack. Abalde (Uru) and Buenaño occupy the central spaces to control the tempo. Abalde (Uru) works to win the ball high up the pitch, while Buenaño sits a bit deeper to shield the defence. They are tasked to recycle possession and quickly find the forwards when the ball is recovered.
The attacking line uses four players to force the opposition deep. Caballero (Per) and Leguía (Per) act as wide wingers who stay near the touchline to spread the play. In the center, Feraud and Bottero (Uru) operate as two forwards in a partnership. They look to play one-two combinations and make runs in behind the defenders. This front four presses from the front to force a long ball and create chances in transition.
This formation provides Macará with significant offensive pressure through wide overloads. The heavy presence of four attackers allows the team to isolate wide players in one on one situations. By using the double pivot, they also maintain enough stability to cover the space left behind when the full backs push up.
The 4-2-4 formation relies on aggressive verticality and high attacking numbers. It is best suited for matches where Macará needs to break down a low block or exploit a high defensive line.
