AEK favors a high press and rapid verticality through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and transition into attack with speed. The goal is to stretch the defence and create chances through direct movement and quick combinations in the final third.

ΑΤΜΑΤΣΙΔΗΣ stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four that maintains a high line to squeeze the space. ΚΑΣΑΠΗΣ acts as an attacking full back on the left, while ΜΠΟΡΜΠΟΚΗΣ provides balance on the right. In the center, ΔΕΛΛΑΣ and ΠΑΠΑΣΤΑΘΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ work as the central defenders, focusing on winning the second ball and covering for the wide players when they push forward. They must hold the line to catch any opposition runners.

The midfield is a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative outlets. ΤΣΙΑΡΤΑΣ works in the left half-space to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while SCOCCO operates as a central engine to drive forward with the ball. ΚΑΤΣΟΥΡΑΝΗΣ sits deeper to shield the defence and recycle possession when the team needs to reset. This group works to compress the midfield and prevent the opponent from playing through the lines.

In the attacking phase, AEK uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. ΛΥΜΠΕΡΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ acts as the lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. BLANCO plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside, while ΝΙΚΟΛΑΙΔΗΣ stays wide on the right to stretch the opposition. The wingers look to receive on the half-turn and deliver early crosses or cut it back for players arriving late into the box.

One major advantage for AEK is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press. This setup also creates wide overloads when the full backs join the attack. By pushing the defensive line high, the team forces a long ball and aims to intercept play before the opponent can settle.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high intensity and quick transitions to overwhelm the opposition. It is a lineup best suited for games where AEK wants to dominate the tempo and punish teams that play with a high defensive line.
