Starting Lineup

PSG aims to play a high press and vertical game using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition with numbers in the final third and force turnovers high up the pitch. The team relies on quick transitions and direct movements to exploit gaps left by retreating defenders.

Riley guards the goal as the lone man in the defensive unit. A flat back four forms the base of the defense with Ferguson at right back and Fergal at left back. Tekky and Mini act as the two central defenders. Tekky and Mini must hold the line and defend zonally to protect the space behind the high defensive line. Ferguson and Fergal are expected to push up to support the attack, which means the central defenders must cover the wide areas when the full backs move high.

The midfield operates as a double pivot consisting of Cas and Sunlord. These two players are responsible for shielding the defense and winning the second ball in the middle of the pitch. Cas and Sunlord need to connect the defensive line to the front four by recycling possession and playing through the lines. They must also be ready to drop deep to help the center backs if the opponent manages to bypass the initial press.

A heavy attacking presence defines the front line with four players pushing the opposition back. Jack plays on the left wing and Marcus operates on the right wing, with both players looking to cut inside to create goalscoring chances. Eerie and Jmz lead the attack as two central forwards. Eerie and Jmz act as a partnership to stretch the defense, using runs in behind to test the opposition center backs. This attacking group is designed to pin the last defender and create chaos in the box.

One major advantage for PSG is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the four forwards to trigger a press from the front. This setup can create numerical superiority in the final third during attacking phases. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when the double pivot wins the ball and immediately looks to find the wide players or the two strikers.
