Campuzano and Herrera operate as the two more advanced midfielders. Boca attacks with three players across the front line. Merentiel operates as a pressing centre-forward who works to pin the last defender and fight for second balls. Cavani plays as an inverted winger on the left, cutting inside to find space in the box and use his clinical finishing. Velasco stays wide on the right to stretch the defence and provide service. This front three looks to attack in combinations, using quick one-twos to split the defence with a through ball or finding the feet of the striker in tight spaces.
