Starting Lineup

Kazakhstan aims to be defensively solid and play with high discipline using a 5-4-1. This formation is built to sit deep and wait for the right moment to strike on the break. Up front, x operates as a lone striker. The goal for x is to hold up the ball and allow the midfield to move up the pitch. The attack relies on the movement of the AM x to support the striker and create chances in transition. When the team wins the ball, the wing backs x and x look to push up to provide width, aiming to deliver crosses or find the striker in behind.

A primary strength of this formation is the compactness when defending, which makes it hard to break down. The team can also create wide overloads when the wing backs join the attack. This allows Kazakhstan to shift between a low block and a more aggressive mid-block quickly to disrupt the opponent.
