Up front, Baumgartner acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and force a long ball. Sabitzer plays as an inverted winger on the right, using his passing range to create chances, while R. Schmid stays wide on the left to stretch the defence. The attack works through combinations, looking to play through the lines or hit in behind on the transition. Wingers and wide midfielders often combine to deliver crosses or cut it back from the byline.
