AEK play a high press game built around a 4-3-3 formation. The intention is to win the ball high up the pitch and use quick transitions to catch the opposition off guard. This lineup focuses on squeezing the space in the middle of the pitch to force mistakes from the back.

A.Brignoli operates between the posts to start the build up. The back four uses a flat line with L.Rota and S.Pilios acting as full backs to provide width. S.Mitoglou and H.Moukoudi serve as the central defenders, where Mitoglou covers the right side and Moukoudi handles the left. They work together to maintain a high line and catch opponents offside. The defensive unit stays compact to ensure they do not get split by long balls.

In the middle, AEK utilize a three man midfield with a carrier. P.Mantalos acts as the engine in the right central role, helping to connect the defence to the attack. L.Marrousis holds his position on the left to protect the back four while D.Szymanski plays as an advanced eight who drives forward with the ball. This midfield group works to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly to keep the pressure on.

The attacking front three provides constant movement to stretch the defence. F.Pierrot acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and occupy the central defenders. On the wings, M.Gacinovic and S.Tsiloulis act as wide attackers who can cut inside to create goal scoring chances. N.Elliason and A.Martial provide extra support in the half spaces, while E.Lamela plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to link the lines. These players press the opposition back line to prevent easy exits from the defensive third.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having P.Mantalos and D.Szymanski close down passing lanes, the team creates numerical superiority in the middle.
