Haiti focuses on a hard to break defensive block and rapid transitions through a 4-5-1. This formation is built to sit deep and wait for the opposition to push high before hitting them on the break. The team uses the extra man in midfield to crowd the central areas and stop any direct play through the middle.

E.Room (C) guards the goal and organizes the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with C.Martina and S.Floranus acting as full backs. J.Gaari and R.van Eijma sit in the middle of the defense to defend zonally. J.Gaari provides aerial strength while R.van Eijma works to cover the space behind the full backs. The back four stays compact to deny the turn to opposition attackers and forces them wide.

A dense five man midfield occupies the central channels to control the tempo. L.Bacuna and V.Anita act as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. J.Bacuna operates in the center to connect the defensive and attacking lines while J.Antonisse and L.Comenencia occupy the half spaces. L.Comenencia has a high pressing intensity to win it back high up the pitch. This midfield group works to squeeze the space and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

J.Locadia acts as the lone striker and serves as a focal point for the attack. He must hold up the ball and wait for support from the attacking midfielders. The wingers and attacking midfielders must make runs in behind to support him during transitions. When Haiti wins the ball, the midfielders look to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to exploit gaps. The attack relies on quick combinations to move the ball from the midfield into the final third.

Haiti gains a tactical advantage by creating numerical superiority in the midfield to congest the center. The compact block makes it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes into the box. This lineup also allows for quick transitions because the players are positioned to spring forward immediately after a turnover. The ability to shift between a compact mid-block and a high press provides defensive stability.

This 4-5-1 formation relies on defensive discipline and a strong central block. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and allow Haiti to counter at pace.
