Pavard acts as the right centre back to hold the line, while Bastoni plays as the left centre back with a tendency to carry the ball forward into the midfield. Leoni provides cover in the center to win headers and stop direct attacks. This defensive unit can shift into a five man line when the team sits deep to deny space behind.

The midfield is built around a central engine room to win the second ball and control the tempo. Ederson and Barella work in the middle to connect the defense to the attack, with Barella known for his high energy and ability to press aggressively. Paz plays as the attacking ten behind the strikers to create chances through the lines. Dumfries and Augusto act as the wide players, with Dumfries pushing high to provide width on the right and Augusto covering the left flank.

Inter uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition defense. Lautaro and Thuram lead the line, often working together to pull defenders out of position. Lautaro is a pressing centre forward who works hard to win the ball back high up the pitch. Thuram uses his strength to hold up the ball and allow others to join the attack. This duo creates runs in behind and looks to exploit any gaps left by the opposition's back line during quick transitions.

A major strength for Inter is the ability to create wide overloads when Dumfries and Augusto push forward to support the attack. This formation also offers numerical superiority in midfield, allowing the team to dominate possession in the central zones. The presence of Barella and Ederson helps the team win the ball back quickly and move into the final third with speed.
