Real Madrid intends to play a high press and hunt the ball back quickly with this 3-4-3 formation. The lineup relies on verticality to catch opponents off guard. Every player is expected to push up to squeeze the space and force mistakes high up the pitch.

Courtois guards the goal and acts as a massive presence to sweep behind the high line. The back three consists of Huijsen in the middle with Bisseck as the right centre back and Ndicka as the left centre back. Bisseck and Ndicka are tasked with defending the wide areas and covering for the midfielders when they push up. Huijsen must stay central to command the defensive line and win the header whenever the opposition goes direct.

The midfield operates with a three man midfield with a carrier and a creative ten. Guler sits in the deepest role to shield the defence and recycle possession. Valverde and Trent provide the engine, with Valverde driving forward with the ball into the half spaces. Trent can switch play with his long range passing to find the attackers. Nico Paz plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to connect the lines and find the feet of the striker during build up.

Real Madrid uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Mbappe leads the line as a pressing centre forward who looks to run in behind the opposition back line. Bellingham plays as an inverted winger on the left and will often cut inside to occupy the central areas. Mastantuono stays wide on the right to provide width and looks to get to the byline to deliver early crosses. This front line works in combinations to split the defence with a through ball.

This formation offers a massive advantage through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The midfield trio can quickly win the second ball to launch immediate attacks. Real Madrid also benefits from the speed of transition when Mbappe and Bellingham move into space. Having Trent and Valverde in the middle creates a high capacity to carry the ball forward and bypass the midfield of the opponent.
